This is actually impossible. The problem is that the Wirecolour channel doesnt really work, as you cannot really seperate arbitrary colours. only if you restrict to Red green and blue you will get a distinct mask channel that is matching pixel perfect with the AA of the beautypass.

Shouldnt be too hard to script the addition of the elements tho i guess.

          Hello,
The plugin has full script support. We already wrote several scripts do make more use of it. You can easily write a script that gives a unique ID to every object and adds the necessary elements.

Just use the showproperties function to get the info.

          Best regards,

          Dieter

This could come in useful, so thanks for making it available.

There is only one problem I seem to be having, and that's with vray area lights. The matte appears to be aliased against areas of shadow from a vray area light, but against the rest of the image it gives a nice clean matte.

                      Hi,
yes undersampling is a problem, because the multimatte uses the exact same sampling as the beauty pass. If the beauty pass is undersampled because the threshold was not met, the renderelement will be undersampled, too.
If you are using the adaptive sampler the solution is easy: Tick the object outline box and this will force vray to sample all object edges.
Unfortunately there isn't something like this for the qmc sampler. You have to use higher min rates in this case.

                      Best regards,

                      Dieter

Perhaps I am stupid - but in what type of scenario/situation would I want to use this?

To give you one render, but also have a really easy way of selecting a specific object in your scene to do specific colour correction or treatment in photoshop / compositing.

                              1. Add the renderelement
                              2. Turn on the 3 checkboxes
                              3. Set the first spinner to 1, the second to 2 and the third to 3 (for a second renderelement you would typically go on with 4, 5, 6 and so on)
                              4. Hit render with the VFB enabled and you should have the Element in the Dropdown box.

                                Hi,
did you set the object properties accordingly?

Select the object. rightclick objectproperties. Set the objectID .

                                Best regards,

                                Dieter
