      Hi,
did you set the object properties accordingly?

Select the object. rightclick objectproperties. Set the objectID .

      Best regards,
Did you check the id numbers (by default they have 0)......
Mmm. Still no success. I'll try it again some time when I have a clearer head.
      Kind Regards,
      Richard Birket

        had the same problem
try to give another number than zero (e.g. 1, 2, 3), or change in the matte render element parameters the number of one of the gbufID's to zero.

I can't seem to get this to work with more than 3 elements. I thought you add another element set and add the other Id's 4,5,6. The second window is black.

This is actually confirmed working exactly like that.
                  Just some ideas :

Got all IDs set for the objects to 4,5,6 ?
                  Got VFB on ?
                  GotMatID off ?

Thanks for the reply. Unchecking material ID worked.

Is there a file format that will include all this data in one file?

You can add the V-Ray render elements to a PSD file with psd-manager.

                        Hi,

Or you can write all this into one exr file with the upcoming builds

And last but not least in current public builds you can write to vrimg and use vrimg2exr

                            Install probs

                            Hi guys

I've been trying to get the plug-in to work without much luck ... I keep on getting an "Error code 127" ??

I've placed MultiChannelMatte8RC3.dlv directly in \Autodesk VIZ 2006\plugins\vrayplugins Is this correct or am I missing something?

                            I'm running viz 2006 sp1 with 1.50 rc3 for max 8 installed.

                            Thanks,
                            William

i think its untested in viz, so you might be out of luck

Right, I am obviously being a numpty because I cannot get this to work. I have attached a screengrab of what I am seeing.
I have added one of the MultiMatteRenderElement and chosen three objects in the scene on which I have right clicked into Object Properties and assigned Object IDs to 1, 2 and 3. The rest of my scene objects are at the default ID of 0.

On clicking render, it renders as normal. If I click on the drop down box at the top left of the VFB I see just the RGB Colour and the Alpha.

What the hell am I doing wrong here?

                                Kind Regards,
