  • Still trying to push this method for rendering. Times certainly have gone up so far, though quality is good and reliable. A question though: when we do quick, low quality test renders, what is the simplest way to lower the overall quality and have quick 'test' renders? Is there one setting I should adjust. Obviously, wit solidrocks, there is a slider. Where should I be looking now?
    Kind Regards,

    • maybe try noise threshold on 1 instead of the default of 0.01?

I just checked, it's just the introduction scenes that have expired (As far as I can tell) -Re-uploading now
and will set all future downloads to never expire!

What files did you have a problem with?

            • With the robot guy, why did you go through the process of optimizing everything and then cut the Global subdivs multiplier down to .4?

Sorry to derail this thread (again) but I am trying to get my head around this. Did you really not recognise the character Iron Man? With 3 dedicated films, The Avengers, spoofs/spin-offs, TV commercials, merchandise...etc. I find it incredible that someone wouldn't know who the character is. Especially someone working in CG.

I'm not trying to mock or insult you understand, I just cannot understand how that could happen.

                    Amazing!

                    • I don't watch TV or go to movies. I have strictly worked in architecture for over 25 years, but I have been currently schooled on comic heroes!

Again, I don't mean to dwell on this but I find this absolutely fascinating - especially in the age of the internet. Do you ever buy or rent films? I just can't shake the image that maybe you'd decide to rent a film and there would be hundreds that you had never heard of, and if so, how do you pick what to watch?

                        Sorry, I'll shut up now!

Please remember that books have been around since the 15 century in Europe, thanks to Gutenberg, and there is still a lot of people that don't own a TV, even in a consumerism society.

                          • Even without tv or movies, to live in a city without a single billboard, or in-taxi advertisement, or magazine ad is impressive.

Believe it or not, I am actually aware of this!

My point is to avoid advertising for blockbuster films is nigh on impossible in this day and age - especially as cubiclegangster points out, with posters/billboards/cereal packets being plastered in promotion. Not to mention the internet. I literally can't get my head around it!

                              • Maybe my demographics are a little different than yours. Do you know whom Teddy Duncan or Jesse Prescot are? (I have young kids)
