I don't see anything wrong in the latest renders. The black parts are because of the fog option, that's what it does. Try using a very light fog and you will get internal reflections all over the place

Also, that hdri map is in mirrored ball format, you use spherical now which is only suited for latitude/longitude maps.
And take care that your lights don't intersect geometry.
