The problem is - rendertime per frame rises from frame to frame. DR with 40nodes - from 1.5 minute to 40 minutes (buckets just stuck for ages; with backburner - maximum rendertime was 4hours per frame, but the frames is a simple turntable-like animation). BF+LC (from file). 2.0 sp1 max 2012 sp2. It is something in scene, because using rebusfarm we got the same shite.... Almost ruined the project. Had to revert to BF/BF. I can send the scene to you on monday, but it is a confidential project... Maybe I can send only some parts ?

So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

So long as I can reproduce the problem here, part of the scene is fine too, although we can also sign an NDA if necessary.

Hope they will delete a scene, as soon as the problem get solved

            Done.

To reproduce the issue - you need to go to the frame, where the device opens.

Thanks for the scene; while we are trying to reproduce the problem can you also get me a mini dump from the 3dsmax.exe process while it is still stuck on the last bucket, just in case we fail to reproduce this?

              Best regards,
              Vlado

Hm. Mini dump ? While it renders ? How ? Or you mean create dump file via task manager ?

The ones from the Task Manager might be a tad too large; Process Explorer can generate smaller mini-dump files. A mini dump would tell me exactly where it is stuck. Also, which frame # is "where the device opens"

Same problem again right now. Very, very huge file + tons of proxy, textures etc... it's an exterior. It's a complex mountain, 3500x2500 px - Render on one node. BF + LC - Spiral buckets behaviors from the exterior to the center + vrimg. One of the twelve buckets is stop in the middle of the image from 2 hours under a simple evermotion tree. In the scene we have 100.000 tree, due Multiscatter object. The CPU usage is 8-9% boh...

Vlado, I know. You cannot do nothing without the file...

If you can get me the mini-dump file from the Process Explorer, it will be very helpful... unfortunately we very rarely can reproduce the issue here even you get us the scene.

                      Best regards,

It doesn't have any specific frame, where it stops. You have to render a few frames. I set the correct render range in my scene. Will try to create a dump... But not sure I have so much time to spend.

The dump will help, if you have time to make it. Other than that, I doesn't seem to hang here, but I'll try a few more times.

                          Best regards,

It doesn't hang using DR ?

I am having this issue. Has anyone figured out some possible solutions? The last 6-8 buckets seem to hang forever even on a 2 minute render. At the hang point i check the task manager and there is 0% CPU usage and 32% Phyical Memory usage (20gb on workstation, 4gb on slaves).

                              5 render slaves - All are Dual-Quad core Xeon, Win7 64 Bit, Max2012, Vray 2.

Renders great until the last handful of buckets (sometimes the buckets are my workstation, sometimes its a slave). Seems to always be one render machine (8 buckets are hanging). No idea what to do!? Please help.

I have had this problem, and reported it awhile ago. If I restart the service, of the machine that is hanging, it'll complete the task.
