    Heya

    Right I'm trying to set up our farm at work to work this way...

    I used this guide...

    And I sort of run in some interesting questions...

    1. If I want to use Deadline to render do I just link my Deadline Plugin directory to point to that server shared folder and thats all ?
    2. How do I deal with Phoenix FD plugin ? I want to use its volumetric cloud shader to speed up renders. Should I put it to the folder with the rest of vray on server or localy on machine ?

    I think thats all that bugs me atm...

      For Phoenix FD, we installed it in one central/server location and have it loaded using environment variables. Works like a charm.

        So all you have to do on render node is to set environment variables to look at server and in deadline to use server location vray.exe humh... k thanks.

          I'm having difficulties getting a central installation of V-Ray for Maya (nightly build 23606) to work with Maya 2014 Extension 1 on CentOS 6.4.

          I'm setting the following environment variables (please note partial python code):

            Maybe you don't have sufficient rights for execution of the file vrayformaya.so? At least the error message hints for that.

                If anybody here wants to upgrade to Maya 2014 Extension, maybe you should wait.
                Autodesk confirmed that BlendShape does not work correctly on Maya 2014 Extension :
