I arfaid, if I edit a post, the edited post will be overseen, because the forum software mark edited post as readed, if it was readed befor. Example: Corey read my post, than I edit my post and if Corey come back, he dosn't see any new post and could overseen the edited post. Do you have an idea how to avoid this?
... area lights in portal mode (+ invisible option) block light from other lightsources like distant and point lights.
... I have here a realy big scene and I get a memory error. Problem: the vray plugin dosn't finish the render process and I can not start a new rendering. It's the same problem like the rendering of an empty rhino scene. Only a restart of Rhino helps.

please email the scene and all textures, etc to info@asgvis.com (or a link to download it) and we'll check the memory problem out
... if I use the _renderwindow command, than the tiling (mapping tool) is ignored.
ok I'll look into it
OK, the problem is the Rhino mapping option: "show OpenGL texture mapping". If it is enable, than the preview and window render command dosn't show the tiling. Same effect for treefrog and vray. I have posted this bug at the Rhino forum.
Memory crash: I try to find a way to send the big scene. Joe, I wish, I could export my scene file with all blocks and textures to a specific directory and send it to you. It's difficult to collect all data from the big scene.
I hope I can repeat the bug in a more simplier scene.
Opening scenes made with older versions of V-Ray for Rhino may cause Rhino to crash. If you run into this problem start a new Rhino scene and Import the old scene. Your material settings should remain. Your render options settings will need to be reset.
I think a basic explanation of the new settings is needed:
Why is there a transparancy box in diffuse and refraction, if you already have the refraction color and fog color? What is the filter box in reflection, and why isn't it default white (with black, reflection doesn't work).
I can't get refraction to work, or the transparency box in diffuse.
Wouldn't it be better to put the BG map controls in the environment rollout instead of in the maps properties? You can even put them in both places, but it would be much quicker to adjust rotation if it were visible all the time. (it seems you can render with the map box still open, but then changes don't have an effect).
How is the relationship between background color, multiplier, map and map multiplier? Why is map multiplier default at 0.5 instead of 1.0?
A mirror ball environment hdri shows up upside down by default in the render (other formats also show up wrong). I can't get it right with the flipping options, but I can get it to work if I use a 180? vertical rotation.
If I use horizontal rotation, it goes upside down again... Mmmm, it seems that horizontal and vertical got mixed up Something definatly is wrong with the default position and the rotation controls!
I can't load the asgvis materials that are installed with vrayforrhino.
... very much I miss the paths of textures, because I use an image browser for selection of texures. On this way I get a better overview about the potential textures. In the past I have copy the path from the image browser to the texture option. I feel, the fix placed file explorer in the texture dialog dosn't bring advantages for the workflow.
I uninstalled beta 10.5, installed 11, opened an old file that had flamingo set as renderer, set vray as renderer, played around for 2 min., and closed. It saved but then crashed. Rhino will not re-open that file, and crashes even when opening nothing. I uninstalled beta 11 and I can now start Rhino again. It generated RCM-crash dumps, if you want them.
I'll try the process again without opening an older file.
Also- how do you assign materials? I have no import button anymore?
ok- I uninstalled beta 11, installed beta 10.5, made a simple vray render and closed. uninstalled beta 10.5, installed 11, opened said file. rendered, closed- crash. can't open rhino anymore. uninstalled 11 and I can now open rhino (no vray installed).
