    Nevermind - I just read up a couple posts and now I see what your talking about...the reinhard. I can't seem to reproduce this jump. Could you send me a scene?

      Yes we need more frame stamp variables - and I believe someone else was bringing up the render estimation stuff.

      Yes- your basically saying to use a null texture as a bitmap. I suppose it should handle it better than crashing though.

      if you open object properties, there is a displacement dialog box, but it has no effect whatsoever on displacement.
      Yes - it is confusing, I realize...but the object-properties displacement is the RDK displacement and has nothing to do with V-Ray for Rhino.

        Maybe the bug is visible only if you use 0.00005 (this is the right value, I posted the wrong). Best download my starterkit

        and set the color mapping multiplier 0.00005. Render two times. First rendering should be ok, second time much to bright.

            If I change the name of the sun dir light, than it dosn't change at the list of the environment sun light list.

              ... gobal override of the local sun options dosn't work. Could be good, if the global override is active, than the local sun option would be "disabled" (grey).

                ... if Vray options are changed during a rendering is calculated, than this changes are set back after the rendering is stoped.

                  Yes it was also in the previous release I told Corey,it was even worst,because changing a something on a material reflection layer would affect every other materials with reflections.

                  My material play crazy, I setup a wood material with blurry reflection, than I create a mirror material. But if I come back to the material editor and touch the wood material, the mirror is set at wood glossiness 0.8 again. This is not a mirror.
                  Joe, I suppose so, this is not the last RC release or the final come within the next days, because it is very hard to work with this bug, - I suppose it's inpossible, because if I use more materials, the cross relation will be a big problem.

                    Micha,I feel your pain I have been fighting this bug all weekend long
                    I must say it is not as bad in RC 1,than it was in the previous one.


                    I don't know if it is bug,but even if Beta 2 was activated by Joe so I could use it last week,when installing release candidate 1 it ask again for an activation code,the only way to use it is to use it in evaluation mode.
                    The activation request code is different from beta 2.

                      My previous big project based on the same materials allways, so I have overseen this bug. Only very seldom I got this effect, that I created a material and got a previous reflection setup, but I never got a problem until today - a scene with many new materials.

                      An other big problem is the strong reflection of the sun. The interreflections of blurry materials are very noisy. So often I can not use the sun. I wish, the sun could act like a directional light with specular effect. Hmm, it look like, I must cancel the sun for my current interior scene.

                      Other big problem: I apply box mapping. The direction of the mapping is wrong, so I set the mapping rotation at 90 - I get stripes. Could be a RDK problem.

                            The layers of new materials will have the proper defaults - the irritating bug where they use an existing material's layer will no longer happen


                            I still have the problem with the patch you just upload.It is worst than it was with the RC,now it act the same way the unofficial beta was.

                              If I create several materials with reflection layer, than they are independent - it works fine.
                              Renee, what is the problem you have seen now?

                              EDIT: I get the bug again at my old scene too. I will send the scene to Joe.

                                I cant seem to save an IR map. The save dialog appears and I can click save but it doesnt actually create the file.
