Re: Share your favorite materials or option setups

VfR4 has been released now. Is the material converter also complete?
Was it released as part of VfR4 and I just missed it or is it posted elsewhere?
Also, the shared materials page doesn't seem to be growing at all. It looks to be stuck on the initial 33 materials. Again I could be missing something?
Keep up the great work guys. Thanks

... the current version is a release candidate (RC) only, not the final. So, wait a little more.

          Ah, right. Understood. Thanks mate.
How about the VISMAT and VISOPT files? Are there more and I'm just not looking in the right spot?
          Cheers.

Oh, and how is that material converter coming along??

Re: Share your favorite materials or option setups

Has the material converter been released with Vfr4? I'm planning on upgrading to Rhino 4 and vfr4 but need to know about the availability of a material library. Vray is much quicker than maxwell but maxwell has a larger library of materials built in. I would much prefer Vray but need to know about the material converter. Any thoughts or updates?

                        Thanks!

Re: Share your favorite materials or option setups

So I see these 3 Max converters as tools to download here...only how the heck do they work? It seems to want to install them to a MAX root folder only I don't have MAX...is it actually a MAX plugin?

Re: Share your favorite materials or option setups

I'm rather new to Vray for Rhino, but I was wondering if the materials available for download are only compatible for Vray for Rhino 4.0 or can they be used for Vray for Rhino 3.0? Is the Max converter also compatible with VfRhino 3.0? If they are compatible in both questions, then how do you get the materials in the Download section to work in VfRhino 3.0? Again I stress, I'm new. Be gentle.

does anyone have a perforated metal (preferably bronze) material they could share? or a limestone block material? i am trying to work with the black steel perforated material from the library but i'm having issues...

                              i'd REALLY appreciate it!!!!

Re: Share your favorite materials or option setups

I have a question. There is an option in Max where you can create a multimaterial object, this means you can aply various materials into one single object, face by face. Now, I know there is a 2sidedMtl in Vray for rhino, but how can I make a cube have more than two materials without exploding it?
