I found it yesterday after reply to aser28 :P

by the way, the conventer tell me some information like "suggest create vismat in bit map......"

so can't I use any mat(download from vray materials.de)?

I tired it in sketchup. But there's no materials in final imange.

you should be member for vray.de after you can download materials. after download materials check the tutorial in my post.

hello all, i found it so frustrating not being able to access a range of material files for VraySU, i have started producing vismat files for myself through 3DSmax, i am willing to share everything that i convert, but to do a complete selection of about 80 general vismat files will take me a while to do! and im not too sure whats the best way to 'share' (because of the quantity and sizes of files) if anybody has any idea please reply. obviously, i dont want to be out of pocket with the time spent doin this. but if enough people reply then i can start a first batch.

When I tried this material it appears flat. What am I doing wrong? I didn't change any settings to the material.

thats where the problem is.. u have to link each of the material properties like bitmap, bump, displacement to its corresponding bitmaps files provided along with the vismat...

just search for the capital M.. and replace the bitmaps...!

Ah, yes. I actually did that. Sorry for misleading, but I didn't consider relinking the textures as 'change'.
However, there was no displacement map. Just a bumpmap.

Is there anyway to convert the materials in sketchup or 3rd party program itself? I do not have MAX, it's too expensive and far too complicated to use as compared to Sketchup.

It has to be done in Max because we are writing our file from Max not from the material file. Sorry. My suggestion would be to download the 30day trial of both Max and V-Ray and convert as many materials as you can during that time period. Until the ChaosGroup decides to introduce their own format, this is what we're stuck with.

Can you please help, on the wooden walnut floor and other materials, in the preview it looks good ( assigned maps to etc.) but when i apply it to object, i only see a brown colour....
