Hi aser, I have a stupid question...I grab some v-ray materials(www.vray-materials.de), and when I open the archive, I got some winamp files...and of corse the way material looks in mat. editor.It's some trick I don't get?

.mat files are 3D Studio Max materials, they can not be used in our product at this time.

teo dont worry bro winamp doing that but its .mat file you need to go into material settings and click get material and click material editor and file and chose your material where ever it is and click on it open it. It will come on after that.If you dont understand just come to my msn mate i will show you ok "alperagbas1@hotmail.com" and do me a favour if you know how to put outside picture into my render that would be nice.You know like outside to windows you going to put sky or sea or something i cannot make it realistic

Thanks for the tip bro,I'll try later, about the environment, I'm just lucky enough to have some good HDRI ,and I get nice results, (like my cars render),
but when I did an interior, I just make a big plane in front of the windows,but not too close, and turn the sketchup shadows on and tweak the position of the plane, until the shadows of the plane was not visible from inside the room. Then I apply an image to that plane, nice, big resolution one,until it was fine. It was not easy, but I get what I want.Of course, everyone told me to match the perspective, witch obvious was not perfect.
I think you will find good reference in the forum, for shore there are some topics about that problem. And of course, the people who explain, are "masters"
not like me. If you get some good HDRI, I'll be happy to guide you.I think I put some HDRI maps for people who ask me, in my post " AUDI TT", where I also explain how to map those maps.
I really hope that I helped you somehow, still learning myself, still not get the full power of vray.Ooh..nomeradona put the background after, in photoshop and it's not the only one.

vismat problem (

I`ve got a big problem. I have Sketchup Pro 6.0.515 and Vray. When I try to put a material from original folder ASGvis/materials everything is cool. Materials works. Problems starts when I try to put materials downloaded from this forum. I know that I have to "link each of the material properties like bitmap, bump, displacement to its corresponding bitmaps files provided along with the vismat". Like jenujacob said. But for example bump materials is *.tif. Vray couldn`t see this file format. I marked "All suported image type(*.png *.bmp *.jpg....)" but there is no *.tif! So I change *.tif to *.jpg using photoshop and apply as a bitmap and bump. One click... "apply" and "update preview" and SketchUp shut down immediately!!! Why ?? I don`t understand it ?? sorry for my bad english

There is no Car paint in the material depository yet.
Anyone feels the urge to make a good one and upload it?
The youtube tutorial of Andciula is in spanish so I didn't get all the info...

I have a question - when I tried to import the vismat file downloaded here in the window "V-Ray--Material Editor" SU said --"Invalid ASGvis material file" !!!

I'm using Google SketchUp Pro 6.4.112 and V-Ray
