  • Development update

    Hi development team
Was wondering whether you guys had finished in rhino land yet. Has development started on Sketchup yet? Im not expecting a Vray4Su 1.5 anytime soon? (fingers crossed for the end of the year) but would be nice to know if you guys had turned the corner. Sorry I know you guys hate these question.

It would be nice to get a little feedback from time to time on how things are progressing with the VRSU update, especially as VRSU newsletters and tutorials nave disappeared altogether, Im sure the other VRSU users are also feeling pretty much neglected, a little bit of feedback would make all the difference.

I'm hoping I will have some news to share soon about development. We are wrapping up the maintenance patch for VfR, just like we did for VfS 1.48.66. There have been a number of speed improvements in this patch which should directly transfer over to VfS development, DR has been fixed and is stable (in VfR), and all in all this version is out performing the previous version of VfR. I know that isn't necessarily exciting for anyone using VfS right now, but it will be once you install that first beta build . VfS has not been updated to work with our new way of building our product, creating installers, and publishing beta builds, so we are still not at a point where we can release a beta version of VfS, but once the VfR patch is out the door, we plan on getting the VfS project up to date and getting a beta out there asap. We also are hiring 2 new programmers to help us have more of a sane development cycle. If you know any good programmers, you might want to send them our way.
      Best regards,

It will be good to have a working Vray for Sketchup and one with parsing times as fast as in 1.0.00.74 (the first Vray for SU version)
Good luck with development, I wish it to be a beautiful next gen version.

It figures that the first user to comment about the update, would be one that doesn't even use that product .

Well, I admit I've been watching the vfr updates with self-interest. Not to mention that it seems very quiet in the rhino forums...

So as an active user I'm wondering how everything is going. You kind of gave the impression (my interpretation perhaps) that all the developers are actively working on VfS after VfR was released. I think it's positive that you work on the bugs for VfR, but the new release of VfS will we most welcome here !!
Hope to hear from you soon

We are approaching Labor Day and that means 2 things.
                      1. No more wearing white
                      2. End of Summer, which is supposed to mean a new beta

                      What's the deal-e-o?

Maybe the Mayans were not predicting the end of the world but a new beta of VR4SU on December 21???

I am surprised that even the newly updated Vray for Rhino doesn't get any traffic...

                              Not a good sign....
