So do we have ANY news on a release date for the next version of V-Ray for SketchUp? We've been waiting so long now that we've considered ditching it for another product? Please, please can we have a version that allows the network render to work??

No release date. Hardly any company will provide a release date for their software - because it's pretty much impossible to guaranty that the product is in shipping shape until it's actually done. Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

Yea, I've struggled with the DR myself. But I saw them at SketchUp Basecamp in Oktober, got a demo of SketchUp with RT. And the RT relies on the DR. So internally they've done a lot of work to it. And I think a public beta is looming. Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

No - was I saw was good!
RT was neat, but the big thing for me is proxies! And dome light! All the stuff Rhino got recently in the last VfR update.
Keep an eye and ear out. Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

we are doing a closed beta right now, trying to get VfS to a point where we can cast a bigger net to catch more bugs (public beta). Feedback so far is positive, but we still need to fix some crucial bugs before it's ready for a larger testing audience. DR is now far more stable than it was in 1.49.01, as thomthom said, we need it to behave for RT to work at all. The material layer issue has been resolved as far as I know. Parsing time has improved significantly. Then of course there's RT, Proxies, new materials, etc. There's lots to look forward to with this next release. Hang in there everyone!Best regards,

I saw the Rendering RoundUp video at the SketchUp 3D Basecamp site. The competition out there looks steep, but if these new features come to fruition in the next version of VfS, you guys are gonna blow everybody out of the water!
I'm super excited!!!I am currently using V-Ray 1.49.01.

Well we've been in closed beta for a bit, and so far things seem to be going pretty well. Proxies have been added, and they seem to be pretty stable. RT is fully implemented, so material/geometry/light changes can update in real time. Dome light has been added, and that's working well. Some stability issues have been addressed, and parsing times have been significantly improved. We are heading towards an open beta soon, though no date has been nailed to the wall yet, so you all will get to have your go at it soon.Best regards,
