Thanks! Unfortunately, using June 2nd's nightly in Max 2022.3, rendering a spotlight with a projection map will randomly flicker in brightness on the GPU in RTX mode...

Isn't this intentional ? Your "SpotCookie" has two frames and the bitmap node is referencing them using an IFL file ?
Oh my god, you're right - that's exactly the problem. Sheesh, it must have auto generated the ifl because there were two images.
