Advice needed for parking garage scene (especially the lighting)

Hello friends,

I am trying to do a parking garage scene, with LED battens (tube lights) so I added line lights along each tube (slightly under it so that it doesn’t get impact by the geometry). But the lighting seems wrong, also I need to crank each light to 200,000 cd to see something, I wonder if it’s normal, and even then it doesn’t seem to really light up the ground. I also tried self-illumination without great result (there seemed to be some light around the lights but the lights itself were not bright).

I attach my current result so that you can see what I mean. Please ignore the lack of texture for the rest of the model and the questionable color choices, I hope to first get the lighting right.

Thank you very much for your help!
Philippe

The lighting in Enscape has always been a little wonky. There have been a few threads on here discussing it, but nothing has been mentioned as of yet. Which platform are you using? If it is rhino i know the only two lights supported by Enscape for spot and point lights. the rest just act as point lights. Lighting is one of the key features Enscape needs to address asap because it is subpar to other rendering programs.

See: RE: 3.1 is here, why are these features/ fixes still missing?, Is this a lighting bug? How to solve it? Many versions have this problem., RE: Rhino 7 Lights, RE: Linear lighting issues - Emit from length not being honored

Thank you! I will research it more. For now I have cranked up the lighting and by playing with the exposure as well I have been able to reach a good enough result for me (see below), even if I still feel I haven’t fully mastered the lighting in Enscape. I use it with Sketchup.
