Corona to Vray material converter???

Hi guys,

such as corona has this option, do you knwo any plugin or script that would convert corona materials to vray.
At least some basic structure???
Vlado,
do you plan for such utility in vray?

Cheers

M

found this:
http://www.3dstudio.nl/webshop/product/1-universal-material-converter

anyone using it? is it reliable?

The regular V-Ray scene converter available from the viewport right-click menu can do basic conversion of Corona materials, lights and maps to V-Ray ones.

Best regards,
Vlado

we tried that but it is failing to do so unfortunatelly

its maxes multisubobject material with 5 corona materials within it
i can see the multisubobject but thats where it stops working…every corona material shows missgin DLL

Salut je ne sais plus où je l’ai trouvé :
made by Alexander Yakushev (iCube)
-- Based on ‘Corona materail converter’ script by Martin Geupel

mais il fonctionne pas trop mal.
CoronaToVray_Converter_04.zip (7.33 KB)

thank you very much!!!
will try this and let you guys knwo how it went!

Sorry, i’m tired today, don’t know why i’ve wrote in french
So it’s work, not perfect but it’s work.
Blended corona are not change to vrayblend but others things works from my last try .

so i tried it with the file i needed to convert and it didnt work.
so maybe there is a bug in that particular model.
Will try it on some others and leave info here
Thanks a lot though Ghiom!

Try Joep’s script. The video looked pretty good to me

Hi Morne, u meant the one i posted the link for???

Yes this one. Havent tried it, but it looks best to me

i does indeed i just wanted to know if anyone is using it before i invest in this.
Last year weve invested over 1000 EUR into SW thats either malfunctioning, not working or abandoned
'…one of them being FUME btw…SW which i completely hate…and its support)
Want to reduce the risks this year
BUt its likely we buy it anyways

Joep seems like a nice guy. If you find any issues just let him know and I’m sure he’ll sort it out.

Thanks Morne, will buy it this week at some point and let you knwo how it works

Link seems to be down. :frowning:

The whole http://www.3dstudio.nl/ site seems to be down. maybe they’re busy with an update of the site… Ask Joep in the morning

I bought that script a couple of weeks ago and although I can’t say I’ve tested it extensively it does not appear to work at all. I’ve tried converting scenes with Arch&Design Materials into Vray and they are still Arch&Design afterwards. Same thing converting from Corona to Vray if I remember correctly, I lost interest very fast.

I found a link for it somewhere else, and like you, I couldn’t get it to work either. What I discovered is that I needed to install the trial version of Corona 1.4 first, then open the Corona scene and run the converter from there. Then it worked. I saved the scene back out as V-Ray and was able to import stuff from it with no issues. Maybe that workflow is just assumed, but for me, I thought I could do it without needing Corona installed.

Yes, I would have thought it is obvious, but for 3ds Max to read the materials at all, the respective plugin needs to be loaded.

Best regards,
Vlado

I have both Vray and Corona installed, and Arch&Design is by default I would assume.
