Hello Enscape community. I am getting different results in realtime/still/movie renderings and I am trying to understand why. 1) Enscape is running with the revit project is open 2) Enscape is running while the project is then closed but Revit is still rendering.
Note in scenario 2 I lose allot of Enscape functionality but the rendering quality and IES lighting files look to be working and I prefer this visual output.
Ive read the support databases and reviewed all Enscape settings. thoughts??
Still struggling with this issue.
Can anybody duplicate? Close your revit project while Enscape is still open.
Hi @m3_design_group
Once the project is closed you will indeed not have much functionality left as we get the data from the CAD program, however normally Enscape should close down as the CAD program is closed off.
It seems different Visual Settings are applied in this case.
You can try to replicate this style by adding Outlines which can be found in our Visual Settings in the Main tab.
There you can also try to lower the Rendering Quality or you may want to try to reduce the Artificial Light Brightness in the Atmosphere tab.
You can find more information on creating a Visual Settings preset here.
Hi Rick, yes, I understand all of this. There are no settings to replicate the experience. I have pulled every lever and clicked every switch. The program is behaving differently and when the Revit project file is closed and it appears the rendering engine is working better and is properly handling lights/IES files.
Is there anyone else that re-create this issue/scenario?
Just close the revit project you are working on while Enscape is open. Does your rendering style change?
More testing. always the same results. seems like the IES files arent kicking on. all light settings are.
Hi @m3_design_group
I have changed my original post as well as Enscape should not stay open once the CAD has been closed.
I was able to reproduce this at the time only once but not anymore.
Please try our latest release, and if you have any issues with IES files not showing correctly, please let me know or share them with me for testing.
Also kindly send in a feedback report via the Enscape Feedback Button so we have more data to troubleshoot this issue.
You can add a link to this thread in the description for context.
Ive attached a Revit 2022 file to which I have the same results with.
I am running the most current beta version. and i have upgraded a few times prior and this issue was noticed prior to those upgrades as well. as I stumbled upon the glitch I suspect my renderings have always suffered from the engine seemingly not working as the quality when the file is closed is much better.
A feedback report has been created.

Issue was related to the Visual Settings.
As the project gets closed the default settings are applied, restoring the Visual Settings to their default values resolved the issue.
