Dear Forum Community,
We’ve just released our latest version Enscape 4.22.0!
New Features
-
Section Box: Cut through your model directly in Enscape with the new Section Box tool. Isolate parts of the building, furnish and inspect interiors, and present key areas without creating section views in your CAD. The section box is stored with the view, applied in batch renderings and scene exports, and geometry hidden by the section can still affect lighting and shadows inside it (Include Hidden Objects in Lighting) -
Texture Streaming: Textures are now loaded step by step at the resolution needed for the current view instead of all at once, which lowers GPU memory use in large projects.
-
Archicad 30 Support: Added support for Archicad 30.
-
SketchUp 2027: Added Preliminary Support for SketchUp 2027.
-
Rhino 9: Added Preliminary Support for Rhino 9.
Improvements
-
Veras: Moved Veras into the Enscape render window, so it no longer opens as a separate window, and added an error page when Veras cannot be reached because the computer is offline.
-
Chaos Assistant: Changed Sky Match to keep your current view settings, such as the field of view and the screenshot resolution, when a suggested sky is applied, and to rotate the sky relative to the camera instead of a fixed direction.
-
View Management: Disabled Render, Scene Export, and 3D Streaming while a view is being created or edited, with tooltips that explain why the buttons are disabled.
-
Materials: Reduced the time it takes to save changes to materials with large textures.
-
Materials: Improved the color accuracy of the tint color of transparent materials.
-
VR: Enabled the Enscape recenter behavior when the view is reset from inside the VR runtime, the same as pressing the VR recenter button in Enscape.
-
VR: Improved compatibility with OpenXR runtimes and headsets.
-
Revit: Added the element ID to the data shown in the BIM panel.
Fixes
-
Asset Library: Assets picked for multi-asset placement did not appear under Selected Assets after the Asset Library was reopened while the CAD Asset Library window was open.
-
View Management: Switching views from the CAD while editing a view left the view edit open.
-
Batch Rendering: Searching for text that is part of the project name showed all project views.
-
Light Management: The width and length labels of rectangular lights were swapped in SketchUp.
-
Light Management: Creating a preset switched the width and length of rectangular lights in the rendering.
-
Custom Asset Editor: The Discard Changes window appeared when closing the Custom Asset Editor, although nothing had changed.
-
Interface: Some tooltips were cut off at 175% display scaling.
-
Batch Rendering: Batch rendering hung at the next view when the Revit model was edited during the batch, and Cancel Process did not stop it.
-
Revit: Views created from Enscape had wrong sun settings, or the sun settings were reset to default.
-
Revit: The Workset property in the BIM panel showed an internal number instead of the workset name.
-
SketchUp: Image materials did not update when they were changed in the Enscape Material Editor.
-
SketchUp: The Material Editor reacted slowly to every change after picking a texture, and could freeze while asking whether to use the alpha channel of the texture.
-
SketchUp: Creating a view failed when the sun was in Date and Time mode (SketchUp 2026.1 and later).
-
SketchUp: Materials with colored textures created in the native SketchUp material editor could not be exported as a material package.
-
SketchUp 2027: Redoing a Solid Tools operation was not shown in Enscape.
-
Rhino 9: The Enscape toolbars did not load correctly.
-
Archicad: Trees appeared black in Enscape because their GSM textures were not loaded.
-
Archicad: Unnamed elements, for example, materials, were not exported because Enscape identified them by their name only.
-
Security: Fixes for identified vulnerabilities.
Known Limitations
-
Export: Group and component instances lose their per-copy material assignments when exported to .vrscene.
-
SketchUp 2027: Saving a procedural component as an external model does not show the correct geometry in Enscape.
-
Vectorworks: Creating or editing a Data Visualization while Enscape is running crashes Vectorworks.
-
Rhino 9: Toolbars cannot be edited.
