The Enscape ribbon is usually only greyed out if you’re in a perspective-3D view, or if your mouse is ‘occupied’ in some way (e.g. placement mode).
Press ESC a few times to make sure your mouse is free and switch to a parallel-3D view, for example the Default 3D View, and you should be able to start Enscape without issues.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions!
Hi, i’ve got the same issue, i tried at least a dozen times with new views and everything… All the enscape icons remains grey and no access to anything.
Hi, I’m also having the same issue with Revit 2019. The whole Enscape ribbon is greyed out and I’m unable to click any of the icons. I’ve switched views and the hit Esc key but I’m having no luck. Please let me know if anyone has found a solution!
@Khabbab , @scyr , @cifrjarvis , we are currently investigating this particular problem which seems to affect some specific users - it would be fantastic if you could all please submit a Feedback report with your logs - the more information we have, the quicker we can resolve this. Thanks a lot in advance, I’ll keep you updated in this thread in case a solution comes up in the meantime.
We also recommend either downgrading to 3.0 or 3.1 preview 11.
I am also having this issue! I just downloaded it on my company’s license and I wasn’t able to enter the key or anything because I can’t access any of the features
I’m sorry to hear about that - please definitely then also refer to my post above. As mentioned, the more Feedback reports the better! And just to reinforce this: You can always downgrade to 3.0 or preview 11 of 3.1. Even if you send us Feedback after installing those versions, we’ll still get the logs from the current 3.1 release.
Same issue here. Just downloaded and installed the new update for Revit 2019.2, now the entire ribbon for Enscape options are greyed out. Cannot even submit feedback reports because that is greyed out as well.
I am having this issue too, I am using Revit 2022, I had already had the upgraded Enscape which i was able to create renders a couple of weeks ago from the same drawing file, and now all of a sudden my Enscape ribbon bar is also greyed out. Clearly its not due to uploading a new version as i have used it previously without problem?
Is it a setting I may have accidentally switched that could cause this ?
I just switched machines and now have this problem as well. I installed the new version as linked above by @Rick_Marx but still having the same issue. It’s working fine in Sketchup. Any suggestions?
Sorry to hear that, could you in that case send us a feedback report including the log files via SketchUp and add a link to this thread and my name in the description.
@Rick_Marx I think I isolated the cause. The Revit customization folder in my Roaming folder was not created during install (there was a mystery extension-less file in there preventing the folder from being created, maybe due to a failed install). I cleaned that section up and since then Enscape has been running fine.
So probably not the same underlying issue as other users were reporting here, just the same symptoms (greyed out Enscape bar, which I guess means Enscape failed to initialize properly?).
Same here, having both Rhino.Inside Revit (1.6 but also the very latest 1.8.8) greys out the Enscape tools in Revit. There must be some sort of clash between RIR and ENSCAPE and this is not the first time, it would be great if Enscape and McNeel resolved this issues. Pretending “this is not my issue but other developer” is clearly not the answer for the teams deploying and supporting your tool within organization.
