Enscape tree/plant replacement of RPC

Hi,

I understand RPC in revit can be replaced by Enscape asset trees/plants. However it seems I have no control what enscape tree will replace 1 particular rpc.

Is there any way I can assign which enscape tree/plant to replace 1 particular rpc?

Thanks in advance.

Hey @steedlei , thanks a lot for your inquiry and welcome to our forum.

It’s currently not possible to adjust the RPC replacement. In this case, is there any particular reason you’re not simply using our high-quality tree Assets in general instead?

You can also always deactivate the automatic replacement, if you want that, in the Advanced tab of our Enscape Settings by simply unchecking the option “Replace ArchVision Content”.

Hi Demian,

Thank you very much for quick reply. Sorry I may not explain very clearly in previous post. I would love to use ALL enscape high-quality tree and planting Assets to produce 3D landscape design video, meanwhile also produce 2D landscape plan. So I need to make revit family (planting family) with DWG (visible on plan only) and RPC for different types of trees/plantings. The problem now is I have no control which RPC will bring me the right Enscape replacement I want. As you mentioned in reply “It’s currently not possible to adjust the RPC replacement”, here are 2 further questiones:

1, will rpc replacement cover ALL enscape assets (as some asset I really needed)? If so, I don’t mind spending time to test ALL RPC I have to make list of which RPC be replaced by which enscape asset.

2, As I tested, if I directly insert enscape 3D asset (tree) into family editor, I cannot use visibility setting to let enscape asset invisible on plan view (the messing looking enscape asset not ideal to show on 2d plan). If there any way I can let enscape asset invisible on plan?

Thanks a lot!

The Enscape landscape elements are nice, however they are very limited in variety and type.

I have put great time and effort into creating and using the RPCs through Archvision, and it is a wasted effort now to replace all those nice RPCs with the limited variety of the Enscape replacements.

Will Enscape be producing more landscape and other RPC replacements?

Renderings will be getting quite stale if we have the same dozen people, same tree, same shrub,. etc… in these nice renderings.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Demian,

Really appreciate it if you can give me some answer of my previous post.

Thanks a lot!

@steedlei , let me gladly answer your questions:

  1. There are a number of fixed mapped RPC replacements and otherwise it is basically category mapping. There is no specific detailed breakdown for example regarding which RPC gets replaced by which asset, so over all it’s random currently, so also when it comes to plants being replaced etc.

  2. That should generally not be necessary anymore soon, since we’ll greatly improve the way how Assets are being displayed in Revit itself. In the meantime, you can go into the “Visibility/Graphic Overrides for 3D View:” settings and add Transparency to everything which is in the planting category for example.

Further, @DPHORVATH_1 , we plan to add a ton more assets, to every category with time. Our goal is to have about 1500 assets in total by the end of this year, so definitely stay tuned for further updates.

Hi Demian,

Thank you very much for your clear answer.

I am looking forward to new assets coming. I am working in Australia, there are some native Australian trees,

Eucalyptus trees. I wonder is it possible to “order” certain type of asset (tree) from photo? Can have some financial arrangement for creating “custom-made” 3d assets?

Thanks again!

Lee

Hi Lee,

I hear you’re creating custom families that you add RPC’s to for the proper look.

One more thing I can add to the discussion is this: There is a workflow to transfer our asset replacement families’ attributes onto your own custom families, essentially making them being recognized as Enscape assets in Enscape!

The workflow was described by our good friend and partner, Phil Read, here: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/architects-interior-designers-rendering-gurus-unite-clean-phil-read/

However, please mind that this is at this point no officially supported workflow and may change in the future, still, I hope this helps further.
