Rendering at Ultra HD on Quadro P1000

Hello,

Can anyone advise if there is anything I can do about crashing when attempting to render a scene on Ultra HD or anything above my screen resolution. Using a Quadro P1000 card (I know it’s not ideal) assuming this might be a VRAM issue?

I’m using the latest version of enscape with sketchup 2019.

Thanks.

Hi @Encore1am & welcome to our forums!

As you already assumed, it might be a VRAM issue - so if you can’t reduce the output resolution itself you could try to bring down the required memory, for example by removing assets or other geometry & materials that are not in view. Also a large number of lights does increase the memory consumption. Other than that there’s the option to reduce the rendering quality (if you’re running on Ultra I’d definitely recommend going down to high, as the difference won’t be that significant in most cases - for outdoor environments even Medium quality does yield quite good results).

Please also don’t forget to submit Feedback with your Log files, so that our Support Team can have a closer look at what’s going on. We’re currently investigating issues with slower GPUs like yours that appear to be memory related, but are actually caused by a graphics driver timeout.

Hope that helps!

Just in case it’s helpful to know, I’m running SU 2020 + P2000 Quadro, just tried installing Enscape and it said it would not work with my GPU. Fortunately I have a spare workstation and it runs fine on that.

EDIT: I should have actually tried it and ignored the warning - it does in fact work, quite well in fact.
