Hi All
In the General settings>rendering>hardware features i am unable to select ray-traced sun shadows. is this because im on a trial version or is there a problem? If so how can I resolve this?
Thanks in advance
@Tracyheywood , you will require at least a GPU from NVIDIA’s RTX lineup or one of the more modern AMD cards, we recommend NVIDIA cards mainly though.
What GPU is built into your system? If it is an RTX card indeed, then you’ll also have to make sure that you’re running the latest graphics card drivers.
If you do not own a modern AMD or an RTX card in general, this feature will not be supported.
Just for your info: In NVIDIA’s case, the R in RTX stands for “Raytracing” or “Ray Traced”. If you are curious to learn more about this technology in general, check out this article here for example. But, it’s generally not something which can be utilized by NVIDIA’s GTX cards for example,
thanks for getting back to me Demain. I have a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050Ti. I actually recently purchased this when getting enscape …so I really hope this is correct. :0(

@Tracyheywood , yeah the 1050 Ti does not support Ray Tracing I am afraid. Perhaps in the future, especially once the GPU price situation has calmed down a bit, you can of course upgrade accordingly if required. ![]()
