We have updated the farm to 3.10.03 and the no DR issue persists. The V-Ray message window instantly give the “actively refused the connection” error.
This problem occurs from any host to any node using any file.
Windows firewall is off on all the render nodes
It does appear to work from workstation to workstation, tried on two different workstations.
Vray 2.5 under Max 2014 can still DR to the same nodes
For fun I checked out dongle, the vray 3 entry mentions nothing about DR licenses. The 1.5 entry does, phoenix does but the VRay 3.0 only mentions “render licenses”
is that for normal farm use and DR? Just want to make sure that is not the issue. No matter the case there are 49 “render licenses” free.
Update:
So they are referred to “universal” render nodes so I assume that means DR or otherwise.
I may know what it is. We upgraded to 3.0 and injected the new licenses into the donlge but never updated the license server software. We are going to do that tomorrow.
Will post results then.

Update, the license server was updated so that is not it.
same prome from yesterday when I’ve installed 3ds max 2015 with EXT2 and Vray 3.10.03 on windows 8.1… when launching Vray Spawner, Max opens with a generic untitled file, not the correct vray dummy…
tried on a pc with windows 7 and it works fine…
V-Ray spawner doesn’t switch to a dummy scene with the latest version 3.10.03 used on 3ds Max 2015 EXT2, but it should work fine. Please run a test render to confirm this.
