VRayLight Viewport Display Defaults

I would love the ability to change the default viewport display behavior of VRay lights. I use VRay Softbox in my lights a lot and I absolutely hate that it changes the light object into an opaque rectangle in the viewport (regardless of viewport mode) unless I go into display options and disable it. Since 99.999% of the time, I don’t want to see that, it means a ton of extra clicks to go turn it off every time I create a light. The same is true for the intensity lines. They just add additional viewport clutter and aren’t very useful. Nice to have as an option, but not as the default. For the life of me I can’t imagine why anyone thought having both of those options turned on by default was a good idea. Please give us the ability to change this behavior.

In newer 3ds Max versions, you can set new defaults for pretty much anything by right-clicking and “Set as new default”. Seems to work fine on a VRayLight’s Intensity Rays/Texmap preview checkbox, which, from what I understand, you wish to disable.

Great tip, thank you!
