are you talking about the bezel set eternity's?
man, i have to think back, as that was my very first vray scene. I think... it was a reflection layer with anisotropic reflections set to something other than 0. 1 perhaps.. to be honest that was a year ago and the machine i did it on died shortly after that render (RIP Alienware m7700). I still have the hard drive, but havent hooked it up to get the files off of it lol.
anyway, play with the anisotropic values and highlight reflection / gloss values and subdivisions. Higher subdivisions will make for a much cleaner blurry look, but your render times will be through the roof. I think bezel ring was a 12+ hour render.
