I've never used caustics, but the last few posts made me curious. A couple of simple renders, mostly default settings.

            Standard Platinum Material.

            Standard Glass Material.

            Standard Green Glass Material

This actually tempted me to render a coin. But I want to try one of them coins consisting of two metals. Think Euros got them?

Pretty much standard VfSU 1.0074 setup. Just enabled Caustics.

                  http://download.thomthom.net/repository/V-Ray/Caustic/

The Texture .zip file includes the HDRI and the wood texture. Remember to remap them if you want the exact same result. Or you can just use your own HDRI. Even works fine with just the Sky as the background.

Thom, I used your scene. No HDRI, just vray sky, VfSU V1.00. Caustics works just fine ;D
                    Mirror material.

Cool. I've never tried taking an SR1 scene into the original release. I had thought I'd cause problems.

Btw, I know it's for Rhino, but it's still valid for VfSU: http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=c...d=28&Itemid=57

woooow, realy nice results, if it is defauts results there is a way to get better ones.... What is your version of vray? i use the 1.0, have you tryed with retangular lights? thanks, i love caustics effect, i`ll try your scene.

                          Edit:

Yeah, i`ve tested the scene and it looks very good, i`ve increesed the settings and the result was great. But, it only work with skylight? What about the retangular light? And, if the scene is a indoor sceene?

I had to link the material to vray.

Nope. Not had any problems. I had an HDRI in the example scene I posted previously in this thread.

What kind of problems do you have?
