the scene is set to use saved IR and Photon maps, but we were not provided with those, so just go into the appropriate areas and change to re-calculated them.

actually you are right PSY, it is much darker than his results.

          hmm probably color mapping.

sorry, it's darker because all vray lights are off
you need to turn ON all vray lights and re-calcul irradiance and photon map

here the link for the "ready to render" file :

and one of my last advanced test pics, with photon mapping settings increased for better light simulation, also i had to boost some diffuse and multiplier settings to achieve a good lighting with dark material floor.

            c u...and have fun

even w/ ur premade ready to render scene, it still renders out dark...

on your renders, are you using any colormapping?

the scenes both have theirs set at the default: linear 1/1

are you guys using the same unit set-up?

                            i agree with natty..

if you downloaded int.max you must have exactly the same result, i rendered it again to be sure i have not changed any settings before saving the file and every things it's ok...

look at the message window for units that may appear when you open it in max (and choose "use file unit").

I think Natty is correct, it is most likely your units, if it is, increasing the search distance by about 2.5x should fix it (assuming matt is in centimeters and you guys are in inches).

cant be units, i'm telling max to use the units in the scene file when i load it.
