I am ann architect, and i am working only with architects.. it might be true that the smallest architects will try do it themselves, but no real architect will take the time nor the effort to do 3d all day, like they have nothing else to do .....

one software making for you 3d model and set of drawing and you can do render in this software will se ???? all you have work to du is edit floor plan everything chenged in sec and you can see your house model all the time.
in future no real architect will know 3D

well archicad does the virtual-building thing for ages.
but in reality all of my clients skip the 3d functionality because

-) it's a hassle to setup everything correctly.
-) you always have to fix parts of the 2d plan because it doesn't look right. especially with elevations.
-) the rendered 3d always sucks. (with ADT and archicad)
-) people are not even able to create clean 2d plans with lines & hatches. every 3d side-product i've seen coming from an architectual office was a total mess.

i couldnt' really understood that post,
I worked with revit. it is the worst software there is out there ..
And if you talk about architects that use revit .. well.. these will never have real work for us.
All u can do in revit is use librery objects and popular housing blocks.
These clients are not ours.
anyway .. read the plastic_ post , and you will might understand better what i said..

BTW - this guy has some great other scripts .... very usefull.
