  • I had the same problem when I tried a GTX 580 & 480 ( previous generation ) .. While the 580 & Quadro 5000 ( same generation ) worked fine. My 2 cents.
If you get the 680 working with the 580 let us know.

            • Does it work on 2013?

Seems to be bugy on 2013.
Any other feedback on 2013 please.

Hey guys. Finally got around to running the test scene on my HD7950 under the now (somewhat) functional catalyst 12.11beta drivers and Max Design 2011. Results aren't so good. 16m 40.6 seconds for me. I'd like to think it was because I had another instance of Max open but it was completely idle. Looks like AMD's got some more work to do.

                • I hope it will get a bit better after we do some optimizations suggested by AMD.

                  Best regards,

                  • Thanks Vlado. I read in Folding@Home discussions that AMD's OpenCL compiler is at least partially to blame in addition to issues introduced by their drivers. Hopefully they sort out things on their end by the next release.

                          • eyepiz - Any chance you could do a test on just one Titan, I guess this would be double the time if not a touch less??

                              Just to recap:

                              V-Ray RT 2.40.04 - GTX 670 with driver 320.49 - 3m 5s
                              V-Ray RT 2.40.04 - GTX 690 with driver 320.49 - 1m 30s

So the TITAN is 7 seconds slower than the 690, not bad for a single GPU :P. All tests done on stock settings, I haven't tweaked the GPU's.

                              • Welp, I tried again with the WHQL Catalyst 13.9 drivers recently released. It works again on my 7950's, yet incredibly slow as it did in the last, distant, configuration that once did (I forget which driver edition). Almost 17mins on a single (900Mhz) card and just shy of 9min on two of them. It seems to scale almost linearly with the second card (I suspect it's not closer to double because the second is clocked lower at 800Mhz). A step in the right direction for AMD and the 7900 series, I guess, even though they made that step backwards over a year ago and NVidia already won the race
