I tried getting specperf to work.. but never seemed to work for me.. as in never really gave me any results.

I will try to have a tinker with it on the weekend.

        Ahh nice one

hehehe, depending on what games you play.. if any.. you might have some driver problems. There are a few games that are a little dicky.. but they are working on it.

Lukx... FYI I would stick with teh 97.02 drivers for the moment. some people are reporting CTD's (crash to desktop) and other weird problems with the latest 97.44 drivers.

By all means try the 97.44's first and see if they are ok. But if you revert back make sure to do a proper uninstall -> safemode -> run driver cleaner -> reboot -> reinstall just to make sure there are no leftovers.

thanks DaForce, hmm from what I see there is quite hassle with this new 8800 GTX. I hope that it's only drivers that are problematic and not the card itself and that there won't be any rev coming out to fix the problems.

well I finly got 8800GTX and next week will be putting everything together but now I read that new EVGA 8800GTX with ACS3 cooling will be available. WIth ACS3 card will run coller. I'm not sure when the card might hit the market and it won't be in step up program. DAMN!!!

                    • Wouldnt worry about it too much dude.

Unless you plan on overclocking the crap out ot if, its not worth the trouble. PLUS i think in tests the ACS3 cool one didnt overclock any better than standard ones.

                        • Ahhh cool. The last ACS3 cooled one i saw was the same speed as the stock 8800gtx. So i guess this is a newer one.

Well even still wouldnt worry too much, I imagine it would cost a bit more and with the ATI R600 just around the corner, we may all be changing again anyway

                          • ATI sucks, I will never put this thing inside my pc again. Had radeon 9700 or something and in 3dsmax it did strange things.

                            • Hey, I finally gave in to the dark side and got a BFG8800GTX last night and was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue when running games or anything that puts a load on the card in 3D, the card its self emits a noise almost like there is a short or electrical buzzing coming from it and after googling it, it seems to be a failry common problem. Also ran atitool and left the settings at normal as I had no intention to overclock and hit the 3D preview button and the card emits a high pitched wine. I only heard the wine with atitool but the buzzing is driving me out of my mind and will prob fire the card back to the store...
