  • Scene Gone Crazy

Two weeks ago I had a scene go bad, and it was a disaster. Yesterday, I merged something from that scene, into a new scene, and now it's happening again. The image below; it's empty, but in shaded mode you see geometry.

Also, the things you see in the viewport don't have anything to do with the scene I merged in. Also, I have several layers that won't delete and are empty, which are from the merged scene.

Have you tried any of these scripts:

I've recently had a scene do the same thing. Is reproducible on multiple machines, but if I reverted to LegacyDirect3D the 'ghosted geometry' went away. Been under deadlines and haven't been able to dig further than that. Geometry stayed in the viewport even after a file reset (and no, it wasn't in my maxstart file). I think it somehow corrupts the Nitrous geometry cache and winds up permanently loaded into video card memory until you close and reopen Max. I tried all the other graphic options, but non-worked. I removed my video drivers and reinstalled, but after days of troubleshooting, nothing worked. I'll follow your link to see if there is help there.
