Yes. The link describes the issue well. They don't mention the shading issue, but I think it's the same issue. It's so bad, you cam move the wireframe and the shaded portion remains.

When trying the alternative graphics options you chose the 'Legacy' and it persisted still? I was really thinking it was Nitrous specific, which wouldn't occur in the legacy (but would occur if you still did Nitrous D3D , etc.) I didn't test mine thoroughly, but at first glance the "legacy" version did not exhibit the same issues. Regarldess, it's clearly a bug we need to track down and report as several groups have been experiencing it. Need to find a common thread. Assuming you're running max Design 2015 Ext 2? What graphics card? (I tried on Titan Black & Quadro 4000 - had the issue on both.)

Well, at least it isn't just me . When I go to legacy, I can't even open a file, so that's not going to work. I have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

Oh yeah, I was totally proposing Legacy as a troubleshooting step so we can determine what to report to Autodesk, not as an actual workflow solution. The fact that you can't open a file in it though is...interesting.

Yep. When I pick the upper left icon, it doesn't cascade.

Earlier when I said refresh the viewport I meant just that. Pressing the tilda key "~" refreshes the viewport. But in this case it wouldnt have done anything anyways. Your issue sound more severe.

We get this from time to time. I "fixed" it by just adding the old "File" menu back to the menu. Go to customize user interface > menus and then drag file back onto the menu

If the legacy driver works, I'll use it for the meantime. I could have used a keyboard shortcut, but I am working on a deadline and i didn't have time to mess around with it.

So, what do you do when your project is broken? it could me months before there is a fix. I did get the legacy driver to work, but it's slower the heck.

Maybe downsave the file to max 2012.
Close max
Change back to default nitrous driver
start max 2015 and start new scene
Merge the 2012 file back into the new scene and see in the list there isn't a strange object?

Sometimes modifier or linked objects go crazy when you merge a scene that has other unit settings than the one you are merging into. Like one has inches the other cm.
