Well, I'm not Vlado... but if I was, I would be OK with it.

So take that for what it's worth.

There is a small intro that I did here as a test; I have to redo it with a better scene though. There will be more videos coming.

        Yes, of course, no problem.

The announcement says the VRay dongle must be reprogrammed so RT can make use of it. I suppose this is by software ?

Yes, this is similar to how you would reprogram a dongle for the normal V-Ray licenses, but we have made the process a lot easier.

            Best regards,

V-Ray dongles can be re-programmed remotely and do not require any physical shipment. Its a matter of exchanging a couple of emails.

Is it preferred to have fast (8-core) slaves do the realtime rendering, even if your workstation is 8-core ? Is workflow speed affected if you RT locally, even on 8-core ? How easy is it to interrupt RT rendering, for instance by keyboard shortcut ?

Would be best to try this with the demo when it becomes available; these things are very specific to your particular setup and workflow.

I already ordered, so I guess I just have to try out . Just would like to know some experiences from people who already worked with it.

does RT more than 8 intel core ? i am thinking about nice 16 core amd solution .....

How does RAM factor into performance? I'd assume more RAM = better?

It looks super cool, but I have a few questions...

How acurate is VrayRT to that of actual rendered vray images.

Does colourmapping, gamma (2.2) and curves (from the frame Buffer) also work with VrayRT?

How does it handle Vray Proxies - Say I have one of those scenes with millions and millions of blades of grass and trees, would this kill my PC if it had them loaded in to display them all in realtime, Or is this something that can be turned on or off?

What about highress HDRIs, or any high res image map for that matter, some maps I have are 14k wide. Would VrayRT downsample them to render the image in realtime, or would It all have to be saved to memory at full size.

Can we render low res animations from it?

                          I think thats it! cheers

Color mapping and gamma work; the VFB curves are not taken into consideration (yet).

How does it handle Vray Proxies
Currently the proxies are ignored - they come as a bit too much for an interactive system. However they will be supported as an option in an update.

What about highress HDRIs, or any high res image map for that matter, some maps I have are 14k wide. Would VrayRT downsample them to render the image in realtime, or would It all have to be saved to memory at full size.
Currently the RT engine does not attempt to downsample any maps; they are loaded completely.

Can we render low res animations from it?
Not by design (yet) although some people have managed to use it for this purpose.

                            Best regards,
                            Vlado

                              License costs?

By buying a VrayRT license do we get unlimited (or many ) distributed rendering licenses, like with the normal VRay Advanced??
Or do we need a license for every computer we want to distribute-render the scene?
So or so it's amazing and I will purchase it, I just want to know how many licenses I need.

...forget Warp 9, engine-room please switch to Vray-speed...

Currently you get 10 licenses for distributed rendering, same as with normal V-Ray.

                                Best regards,
