  • Too bad about your friend, too. Still no word, going on day 7...
At this point, I will dare to say that even support for VrayScatter was 10x better...

    • Oh oh, i might have the same problem...i just got a new workstation because my old one just stopped working. Autograss is the only plugin i need to "unlock" and i hope i will hear from them soon. Try to contact Ms Lynn Fyffe (lynn@happy-digital.com), this was my contact when i had a previous license problem.

        • Hello voltron Olli and Martin,
abou Autograss speed - increase Memory Limit to 2000 MB in Autograss settings.. My installation of Autograss works fast.
about licencing - yes, their support is slow. Seems Lynn and Graham travell a lot so they are often out of office.
I`ve had a problem with licence for my new workstation. I`ve had to fill a replacement form and fax it and then finaly my
keys was reset and i was allowed to install the plugin on my new machine.
For me it is very useful plugin with very slow support.

I have a lot of tests I was hoping to run on it, but I guess that might be a while still, thanks for the memory tip.
              They are even worse than
Autodesk, I guess, since the most I ever had to do to authorize 3dsmax, mas place a single 5 minute phone call.
Hmmm, hope I don't need to fax anything, don't have one of those machines
Traveling is fun and interesting but it seems bad for the type of business they are in...and the customer is the one inconvenienced.
Still want to be at peace with this, but now onto 8 days and beginning to regret the purchase...

              • Well now after all i`m happy with Autograss. I`m using it for a few months with no problems.
But once i`ll have to upgrade my machine and i`m scared of that day...

                  • Well, now I have gotten some support and the workstation is up and running, but the DR is a sad situation.

                    1) Make a new scene, add box prim, apply some bitmap, activate DR, renders fine.
                    2) Make new scene, add box prim, apply autograss to it, renders fine
                    3) now, activate DR, renders completely black, even the workstation's buckets.
                    4) Deactivate DR, hit render, renders fine
                    5) Now, delete everything in the scene, make a new primitive, no DR, renders all black

Other scenes with no Autograss work fine with DR, so I am 99.9999% certain it's not a problem with DR or my network setup.

As with my original installation, I followed the tutorial/instructions during the installations.
I entered the correct info for the license manager crap (just like last time when it was working.)
Only thing different here is a new C: drive and now a new license of A.G.
Yet I cannot render with DR if there is, or has been an autograss object in the scene.

                    Edit: Now Fixed!
                    Cause: Still unknown
Solution: Rebooting, re-installing everything on both machines about 6 times, then the rendernode magically works.

                    Just glad it's good again!

                    • I have Autograss and the license manager installed on Vista 64 Ultimate like you
In the filewall I added an exception adding the autograss license manager exe
I hope this can help you.

                          Hello,

When i've use Autograss for the first time in DR mode, i had the same black render.
In fact, the real thing wich cause this is in your descrition.
You don't add any light !
Autograss on your workstation is able to render autograss witout any light by using the default 3DSMAX light.
But the render node autograss aren't able to use default light. Don't as me why, it's like that and must be know .
So, add some light to your scene and your DR never render black.

                          Hope this help

                            • I have tried contacting them for support too, without any success. We should see how long it takes them to reply if we ask to purchase their product. I bet we'd get instant feedback.

                              • ghiom3d, I actually think you are right, it makes sense, and I feel slightly dumb to never try that at first.
My resolution was first, she reset my license. Then, it worked, but I fumbled with no lights for a few hours.
Olli96, yes it is bad...my emails to Graham still are unanswered, but it was Lynn that eventually
contacted me. It's funny she never thought of the solution that ghiom3d has mentioned...although her resetting the liceense was critical
because my "machine i.d." had changed. I know there has been a lot of talk of service for this and other plugins, but for example, VRS support
was resolved after one email within 24 hours. Best luck Olli and Bobby, hope you reach someone!
