it did to me too...all of the sudden the licence is gone again...i dont want to be rude but F*CK IT....i am done with autograss, started using igrass
if i ever need to go back to autograss i will contact the guys at happydigital and if i dont get reply within 2 days i wont hesitate to crack it cos i ve bought the licence and render servers for 15 nodes...quite expensive for something that does not work
i am really upset cos it usually happens to me right b4 the deadline....unstable and some of the features are very badly explained in the tutorials and well as in the manual
this thing needs a proper service pack!

Autograss really hurt the 3rd party app people for me. I'll think long and hard before I purchase something from someone without a track record. BTW... I still have not heard back 2 days later.

That sucks big time. After the disaster i had when we upgraded your pc's i decided not to use it anymore. Too much trouble for nothing. Right now i use Forest and mdo and i am really happy with their customer support and tools.

I also purchased Autograss and emailed them explaining that i had to have a replacement Boxx workstation and my license would not work now. Could they reset my code's somehow and the answer i got was basically No.

So i did what i had to do and used a 'c#ack#ed version' not something i wanted to do but i had no choice and tbh i think its a pretty rubbish plugin,takes forever to render unless u only use Primary bounce on low settings and the grass isn't the most appealing to look at from far away.

IGrass looks brilliant and will be purchasing this very soon

lets write a complaint letter to their resellers then...alltogether....something must be done about this otherwise this will be a precedent to any other 3rd party coming up with another "great plugin"...if we wont do something about this, it will happen again and again we will loose the money!

I don't think they use a reseller, they sell from their site. I would fear installing a crack because I wouldn't want things to go wrong and break everything else.

yeah the trojan thread prevents me from doing so as well....i willl do everything so i dont have to use it anymore but it pi**es me off that i ve wasted so much money for something useless...could have bought some PG skies and models from designconnected instead :-/

We have gone down the route of ForestPro. Do you know if the iGrass objects are 'normal' geometry that would work with ForestPro, or must we use MultiScatter?

IGrass has "normal" geometry, no need to use it with MultiScatter. They have however a MultiScatter texture which you have to remove - for color variations, the basic shader can be adopted quite easily.

do you know if Igrass will work ok with Vray scatter..... I prefer to not have to upgrade to Multiscatter even tho its got better features

I guess it works with VRayScatter. You get the single grass geometry as a max file and, as in the previews, a file with a whole field of grass and for those scenes you need MultiScatter but like i said before, you dont need any of those plugins, everything that is in the field files you also get as a single file to use with any other scatter tool.

Sad days for a tool that had so much potential, yet the lack of value added updates and the cost of effort in making autograss a success in ones workflow seems to have risen above it's implied value.

As an early adopter of autograss myself, I have to agree that it is best to look elsewhere at this point for a geometry grass solution.
