                Hi there,

                I'm trying to get my head around this new vector map system as I have to apply a lot of different options of graphics that are usually created in illustrator by graphic designers or art workers. These graphics are usually applied to windows of the stores I visualise on UVW mapped planes, so I use Vray material with the diffuse map as the image & a black & white image as an opacity map.

                Currently I use large format jpg images for diffuse & opacity map to get crisp edges, but without adjusting the diffuse map to bleed past the boundaries of the opacity map the pixelation "ghost's" around the edge where there is miss match of the two maps.

                The perfect solution is to use the vector maps to replace the diffuse jpg & the opacity jpg, but I can not get the vector map to work as an opacity map within a Vray material.]

                This new system would be great to replace my current method and speed up my process as sometimes I spend considerable time adjusting maps to get over the missmatch problem.

                Has anyone had success with using the vector map i the opacity channel? Am I missing something obvious?

                AH, sorted it, played with the alpha source and now the transparency is working, great addition in my eyes, going to save me so much time & effort!

                    No, should work fine without errors with V-Ray build 2.40.04.

                    Could you try to delete the file "VRay-VRayLightLister.mcr" from folder C:\Users\Your_User\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMaxDe sign\2014 - 64bit\ENU\usermacros?

                    3DS Max needs to be restarted after that.

                        Same folder : C:\Users\Your_User\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMaxDe sign\2014 - 64bit\ENU\usermacros

                        You should have a file " _temp7556.mcr ", try to delete it and start Max again.
