How about they buy me beer to loosen up all the waiting-around-tension that's been building up - and THEN tell me when it's coming out??
:P

Sorry guys, they wouldn't let me buy them beer, since it was free!

Hello guys,
Sorry for the delay. We are back from the 3d festival and are putting all our effors into releasing the first official public versions of VRay 1.5; we are aiming at having a build available at the end of the next week. It will be available to all registered users of the Advanced version of VRay.
Here are some of the changes in the new builds:
Geometry pipeline- Reliable handling of extremely large datasets (millions of unique raytraced triangles) even with limited memory resources.
Extensible with custom geometric primitives through the VRay Geometry SDK.
Includes VRayFur and VRayPlane as additional geometric primitives.
Enhanced displacement mapping, many times faster than the previous version; includes view-dependent displacement mapping for fast high-quality results.
Efficient and fast raytraced motion blur, even with deforming and/or complex geometry such as fur and displacement mapping.
Global illumination- A new fast iterative global illumination method with quick convergence for interior scenes (lightmaps)
Additional VRay-specific materials- Several simplified materials for faster rendering (glass material, diffuse material, diffuse+fake specular material, self-illumination material).
VRay-specific virtual frame buffer- An enhanced frame buffer with many additional options.
Works directly with the floating-point sample data provided by the renderer.
Allows rendering of very large output images directly to disk for saving precious RAM resources.
Floating license system- Completely independent of the 3dsmax authorization system.
Support for floating licenses.
Developer SDK- Allows the implementation of VRay-specific material shaders and geometric primitives.
Best regards,
VladoI only act like I know everything, Rogers.
