    Hi,

I got a new version compiled by chaosgroup for the newer rc4s. It's only the 32 bit builds. I couldn't test them because I don't have the newer builds yet. But I am posting them nevertheless. Just let me know if they work or not.

    Best regards,

    Dieter

Another question about the MultiChannelMatte plugin and VRay.

With RC4 of Vray you can now save your image as EXR right?(Based on other forum user post) So all MultiChannelMatte and VRay channel can be saved in that file as well.
Is there a software (other then Nuke, Combustion, AE or PSD Manager) that can correctly extract channel in a EXR?
My point is that rendering in vrimg is nice cause you have tons of channel that give you a lot of control in post and you have everything in only one file. But the bad thing is that you need to extract all needed channel in multiple file to be able to use in Photoshop for exemple. So be able to sotre all channels in one EXR file is also nice like vrimg and you can open EXR file in many comp software. But my problem is that Im only doing static image so no need to buy a 4000$ software just to be able to play with all the channel in the EXR file.

Someone have an idea about that?

you need to split render the elements then. layered EXR isnt supported in apps other then nuke currently.

            Hm,

when did you get this rc4? last week or older?

We coded our own exr viewer and our own channel extractor for still images. For animation we use nuke. If you only need them separate, then you can split them right from the vray framebuffer, right?

            Best regards,

            Dieter

              DIMO> I got RC4 it last week...
I imagine that there is no chance that christmas come early this year and you also give to the community your EXR viewer/extractor... hehehehe

The best workflow for everyone would be only one file with everything in it to fine tune images. So at the moment the only one possibility on the market is the PSD Manager from Cebas ??? That's bad.. Can Chaos Group also put in the final release to be able to save as PSD Please !!!

well the extractor wont really help you...the result would be the same as saving o split channels via the VFB.

No chance I will check for PSD Manager...

Just wanted to inform that the multimatte will be part of future VRay Builds and this will hopefully solve all compatibiliy issues.

                              • Fantastic plugin, thanks !

Just wondering if its possible for the geometry which has the MultiMatte applied to it to render out with an alpha channel, effectively allowing easier selection in Photoshop/AE ?
