I really like to see two VRay light features in a near feature:
1 - multiplier for lens effects in vray light options. Light will illuminate the scene still the same but i can set if the bloom/glare effect will be stronger or weaker. Something like multiplier for atmospheric effect. You know what I mean. I dont need this in lightmix as emit materials now, just standard option will be enough.
2 - option to behave light as a projector. I mean now when I add a texture to rectangle vray light, this texture spread to every direction. But it would be great for a lot of scenarios when this texture spread as a texture from one point. Hope you know what I mean. Great for projectors, headlights and other things.AMD TR 7980X, 256GB DDR5, GeForce RTX 4090 24GB, Win 10 Pro

Here's a tiny one...
Enable the White balance controls for VRayPhysicalCamera *without* having exposure enabled. Do these need to be tied together?
The other day I found myself wanting to apply a small white balance adjust right in the camera, but was blocked because I was not using exposure.

Another very simple one...
Any time you list DR nodes in the log please list BOTH the dns name AND the ip address for EVERY line that includes one or the other.
Right now sometimes it lists the IPs, and sometimes the dns name. We would really like both. Every machine has proper DNS, so this is preferred, but I understand that most people do not have reverse PTR entries for local LAN ips. So listing both is ideal.
EDIT: Perhaps sometimes it lists the machine name (hostname), rather than the DNS name. (For our machines those mach). It should always show the machine name and the IP every time it would show either one.
Thanks.Last edited by Joelaff; 06-04-2023, 04:05 PM.

Would be cool if there was an option to multiply the color setting of a light by its map. This way we could use grey scale maps (like VRaySoftbox, etc.) to se the shape of the light, but then easily control the color from the light settings, or the light lister. Now, we have to control the color in the material editor if we use the map.

Good Morning, thanks for the recent Vray updates!
I often do many renders in colour, then I knock out lowres greyscale white override image,
using the material overrides in the render settings,
and a preset bunch of composite layers (which boosts the contrast and tweaks the lightning somewhat)
So I'd like to see a button in the render buffer that takes us directly to the overrides(in the render settings)
so I can turn them on and off, and edit them if necessary.
I'm aware of the lighting override button, screen shot here:
I tend not to use this as I need the customisation from the material override settings,
which depending on the situation I need to change depending on the render.
I often need to keep the opacity and bump etc, which gets lost with lighting override frame buffer version.

vray camera resolution override - it would be useful to have an option to change the FOV to 360 / render out a spherical camera from within the individual camera settings rather than going to the global override settings.when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro - hunter s. thompson

Vray caneling renders due to resumable rendering is activated, but file saving is off is very annoying.
I always forget to uncheck Resumable rendering, when I want to make some quick test renders.
Please gray it out as well when saving the image is off and maybe trow a warning in the log but don't cancel the rendering. Or at least turn it into a warning dialogue which where I can either cancel or continue to render.Last edited by Ihno; 16-05-2023, 05:35 AM.German guy, sorry for my English.

The new VRaySky clouds are great but it can be very difficult to find a combination with lots of clouds and direct sunlight due to the sun often being occluded behind the clouds (especially at lower angles). I have found myself going through hundreds of seeds to find a good combination. It would be nice to have some sort of override that always ensures the sun is visible, if desired. Some way to diminish clouds anywhere near the sun, perhaps with some kind of falloff or a more intelligent system.Last edited by john_kearney; 07-06-2023, 03:05 PM.
