I don't succeed in using a noise texture for sky background (or any other procedural). Should this be possible? It never shows up, or it renders extremely slow and also doesn't show up.
Something funny is going on with material names. I did a purge and it deleted a material from the material editor pane that was being used by a layer. Everything on the layer was assigned by layer.
When I clicked on the material circle in the layer window, it shows the material as still assigned. When I edit, the name of the material that I just saw is not in the material editor pane. I exited and somehow crashed- looked like RCM type.
I've noticed something like this before. Could be a renaming issue, but I think it's related to the way that you can edit a material, rename it, return to the material properties pane and it still shows the old name until you close and re-open.
Something to check out it.
I'm also getting an error when saving file. I save as jpg. After I save I get an error dialog, but the file was saved just fine.
I am getting an alpha channel saved, too, which I don't want. It's not enabled in the channel selector. This didn't used to happen.

Yeah I made a mention of this on page 1 of this thread somewhere. Ignore it - its been fixed

Yeah Micha has pointed out that I ignore layers and objects that are hidden. This was an oversight of mine. Were your layers hidden or locked or something?
Bug in VFB - when at maximized zoom (1600) and then goes to smth not 100% (for 3% or whatever) then I cant' go back to 100%, only to 96%. It's because the step is smaller (3-6-12-24-48-96 OR 1-2-4-8-16-32-64-12. So I need to go back to 1600%, to reset step size. It starts from 25 - you can't divide it by two
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Smth I can't understand - when I press cancel before render complete it cancel render process, but progress bar stays in the same position. I thought it must reset its position to initial state... Maybe I'm wrong.

Yes, the layer was probably off. That would explain it.
Thanks

small help: double click on the framebuffer makes zoom 100%.
I don't think the match materials button works. I matched a material and the change was apparent in a render viewport, but not when I render. The name changed to the new material in the material properties, but when I browse it shows me that it has not changed.

Rhino's match material button does not copy user data. The appearance of it working in the rendered viewport is just because we set basic rhino material data (color, basic reflectivity, etc ) and that basic data is getting copied.

If you cancel the render the progress stops where its at and when a render completes the progress bar also stops where its at- it doesn't reset itself until the next render starts. I don't know that it really makes a difference whether it stays where it is or resets itself immediately.
