Hoping someone can assist - working on a model for the past few days and its been rendering fine. No issues at all. All of a sudden now the sky will only render black so its completely messing up the renders.
I’ve restarted the PC, I’ve fiddled with RT settings, I’ve exploded blocks etc, I’ve updated enscape to the latest 4.12.0.204 version but the issue persists.
Images below, hopefully some can shed some light!
In Enscape, all showing fine:
Rendered output, sky black, reflections acting as if its pitch black outside - but you cans still see the reflections of the windows behind the camera which show the sky fine?
Thank you for your message!
Can you please check if you have “Apply Alpha Channel” turned on in the Enscape Visual Settings menu? This will remove the background in exporting so you can add it in post-processing. You can turn this off in the Visual Settings > Output tab.
Thank you in advance!
Hi Hayley,
Thanks for the response - all fixed!
I have my output set to jpeg, alpha channel box is greyed out (and not ticked). If I change it to .png output then the alpha channel is indeed toggled on. If I untick that box then all renders fine as a png, if I change it back to jpeg then it also now renders fine again. Presumably the alpha channel is applied across jpeg format too if toggled on under png, but as the box is greyed out when jpeg format is selected it never occurred to me that it could be the source of the issue!
Anyway, huge thanks.
I’m glad to hear that!
Sometimes the alpha setting can “stick” in the “settings.json” file in your Documents folder, which causes it to transfer into JPG, even though it isn’t actually compatible with it.
