  • It's a tough call, would almost have to print them out on the wall to compare, but up until now I think the long haired one has been a bit more striking.

As a minor minor detail I can sometimes feel the peak of nose around the nostrils look a little 'rubbery' compared to the rest. But it is really after super scrutinizing it.

    • Nicinus : what do you mean by the : feel the peak of nose around the nostrils look a little 'rubbery' compared to the rest. ?

Here's some HDRI test again with a close up of the eye and an eye shot.. and I did quickly a necklace and new earring.. like it ?

      • Lovely as always bigguns. What hair system are you using? Great update. Normally I would say the pony tail one, but your long hair version you've pulled off wonderfully, so to show off all that nice hair work, I would go with the long hair version.

        • First of all please don't take as I think it looks wrong, it's just that every time I look at these and admire the art and try to pick it a part, I kind of get a little stuck there compare to the rest. I'm only mentioning it since you seem to want it perfect. I'm not sure if it is the material looking a bit like a wax there or if it is the shape. Maybe it is just a bit wide between the nostrils? What do I know, but compare with this other face I googled.

Lol. Well, that's what you get for making an effort to help. Second time in a week, I'm out on feedback for a while.

              • She's looking absolutely fantastic Luc.

I'm not a big fan on the new hoop earrings, but more because I've never seen this style before (with the hoop attached to the front). To me, it would be more natural for the hoop to pass through the piercing hole.

                • Nicinus : haha don't take it bad. Maybe you don't like the nostril you can, but maybe I don't really understand what you mean really. I did the nose with refs ..anyway now it's too late for those kind of change.. I just want to finish her and send it to the rigger guy this week I need to finalyse wich iris texture I will choose maybe then you can share wich one you prefer I will post the different choice this week.

Al Jefferies : Thank's man I'm glad you like her I will start a new character this week, while she's rendering, I will work on hte new guy, probably a balck guy, something quick to do, no fucken long hairs ^^

Here's a close up shot of the eye, I need to redo the displacement connection with the eyelash and the skin since I modified the eyelash it don't fit now.. and when I choosed the right iris for her, I gonna displace it as well so in the end it can just look better, especially with DOF ,etc.. and animated can't wait to see it

                  • this is just splendid, the last close up of the eye is unbelievable (corrected eyelashes or not). as already pointed out, I find the new earrings kind of weird, maybe because I imagine them weighting enough to slightly deform the earlobe, I don't know.. love the necklace though. and I like the hair braided in the ponytail the best, but it's stunning in the other way as well.

None taken, was just kidding. Lol. But seriously, look at the other girls nose and the area that I marked on yours. I'm not talking about the shape. Maybe a tad facial hair or other irregularity? Or less shiny.

PS. Just realised my example was a celebrity, I googled 'woman, model, headshot' or something like that and just picked the one I liked the most.

                        • I think Nicinus may be referring to how the light drops off in the nostril area. In your nostril area the light drop off is very abrupt. It goes from being illuminated to black rapidly. In the photo that Nicinus posted there is a light drop off as the light goes up the nostrils. At least I think that is what Nicinus was pointing out.

                          Fantastic work by the way.

he's talking about the material and how the light reacts to it, not the shape.

                            • Haaaa if it's that ok yeah, a little to abrupt maybe. I tweaked them recently since they were not deep enought and nostril was too often illuminated.. ok I'll fix that ^^
                              thank's

Exactly, it's dark in there, no illumination on the inner edges. And then as Neil said, the way light hits the surface compared to some other places on her face seems less soft.
