Getting better Btw the separate specular/diffuse contribution multipliers are already in the nightly builds.

      Best regards,
      Vlado

Wow thank's Vlado Gonna be simpler and faster to do render test. But I'm not sure if I have acces to these nightly build ( the unstable one especially )

And, I would like to have possibility to have control over the fallof of the power of the light, like with the standard light? can we have something like that for the vray light? usefull for creating more artistic lighting. right now we have decay or infinite like.

EDIT ** : Vlado, I forget, can we please have one more reflection layer in the hair ? would be very usefull, and I would like you to add one more thing to me really important, would give me much more control over the effect on the hairs, each layer of reflection should have the possibility to move up and down the hight light ( I remember I did ask you about it a while ago but it was for the vray MTL. ) Tell me if you think you can do that, would be very usefull seriously I think.

EDIT *** : Vlado, an other request, I would like you add an exlude include list of object for the vray mtl, would be really really handy.. especially for what I'm doing now :S Do you think it's possible?

Last couple of renders were missing a lot of things - the hair and almost looked like GI was off. Great to see the dramatic update, it's looking incredible Luc.

thank's man! Hair GI ( GI in the scene ) was off because in vray 2.4 was too slow to render for previews.. now I switched to vray 3, much faster and the hairs have soooo much less nooise so I can turn on GI and it's still render faster then in vray 2.4 at off lol. so Vray 3 > Vray 2.4 ^^

This is looking really, really good.

The main forms of the hair still look artificially 'neat' (for want of a better word) and there's something about the scale of her eyes that's bothering me but I can't quite put my finger on it. It's either the overall scale or the eye opening is too large (by like 3-4%) or it might just be the iris seems too big because she's looking front on with a relaxed expression but the bottom of the iris is being covered by the lower lid.

Of course, this could all be wrong! It just instantly jumped out to me when the image loaded up.

The last one is extremely good. Skin and eyes are now very convincing. Agree with above that the hair is perhaps a bit too soft somehow compared to rest, but I'm really just looking for faults.

She looks real, but especially since I know she isn't there is something about her that gives it away. Can't pinpoint it but I assume it is something about the stare. Not so much how the eyes look, but what they seem to be looking at, if you know what I mean?

From the beginning I've also felt there is something about the nostrils that looks slightly rubbery or sss'y. But again, I'm looking very hard to find faults.

Hey, for the eyes, I made them a bit less wide from the exterior part, so I feel that now maybe the iris should a bit more inward ( i did not reajust them after ) and also, with the green eyes, wich were done realllly quickly, the iris was not at the exact position, anyway I'm working hard on the eyes since yesterday they will be better I made a really cool eye lids to eyes transition, now I had the line getting too dark but with the new change it's corrected.. and look good even in huge render

what do you think with the brown eye version ? I think it's a bit less weird in the eyes no? And check the samller render, that's before I made the eyes a bit less wide, I think the stance was better since the iris was better placed.

The brown eyes look a bit more natural to me (but it might be because I have rarely seen people with green eyes).

                    Best regards,
                    Vlado

                    • Hey Vlado,

What's the right way to get an opacity to work as expected with the sss2 ? ( since there is none in the shader ) . I blend it with a vray mtl via a map white and black ( the mask) . But it behiave really weirdly you should try it.. and in the layer that is blending the reflection a in that layers too, and I get some weird things going.. laways have a hard tome to get something decent with opacity working with sss2.. any idea ?

                      • Hey man, I did a quick paintover of her eyes to try and show what I mean.

For what it's worth, I really like both eye colours. The brown looks nice and natural but I think green could give her a little more personality.

                        • Agree about the green eyes, somehow pops a little more than the brown ones. What an amazing picture it is becoming.

                              • Hi guys, not the final one.. no facial hairs for now since it's much longer to render with them.. I still have some seams lines to remove in the nostril etc butnot too apparent in this render.. not finished as you can see.. I will change the earring, add a neck lace and cloth surely this week.. I want to finish it this week and send it to the rigger so we can see a smile and animation, especially of the eyes , anyway.

I hope you like better the eyes now, I do.
