Saluto said earlier in the thread that he didn't use saved irradiance maps - only photons. I'm not sure if he meant that he only uses a saved map for photons. Is it during photon mapping that most "unwanted" color bleed occurs? I don't have much experience with photons.Surreal Structures

The images are so clean and looking at the values of his lights (one with the nicely textured couch) I would think the image would look much different with those values and exponential color mapping. When I attempt such things the sunlight hitting the floor tends to look very artificial. The "white map" (or whatever its called) works well in most scenes and tend to produce the results seen in this thread. Like other techniques tweaking it can be a killer but using all off white to shoot the IRMAP allows you to see overbrights/blowouts.
I do find the shadows on the ceiling interesting, at the end of the shadows you can see a blending of the cool and warm lighting.
It just seems there is a ton of energy coming into the space without blowing anything out. Just a thought, way nice stuff.
Of course I believe it could be straight up lighting, and man, you Saluto are an expert."It's the rebels sir....They're here..."

great job saluto_, as always.
Questions:
I follow the description of saluto's method in 3dcenter.ru a month ago, because another great russian artist posted here your example scene file. But when i rendered the scene file the result is not so clean like your images, i'll post an example:
saluto's render:
Scene file render:
I have only opened the file and rendered the same camera. The file is created with max 5 and in max 6 appear this message:
This plugins correct the color bleeding and the light intensity? Do you use max 5 with this plugs in all your interior works?
If no, do you can explain your method to obtain a clear quality GI on the walls without color bleeding? I cannot obtain white walls like yours when, for example, i use a wooden floor or a lot of wood furnitures.
Hope you understood my questions
Cheers
