We will not support the standard 3dsmax render elements at this point; instead we are working on our own extended VRay-specific solution.
Valdo will the extended vray specific solution work with programs like after effects , Shake, Combustion, Digital Fushion. I guess what im asking is, if it renders out passes diffuse, spec, reflection you should be able to import them into any compositing sofware.....right.

You will be able to save the passes as images. You can then load the images into any program you like.

Does the 1.5 version will be optimized for Pentium HT tecnology or
          64 bit processors?

                Hi Vlado

like Natty, i think that dr for max 6 would be grate. Right now this is our only reason to stay with max 5. If youl made a v-ray version for distributed rendering in max 6 available, we could deinstall this version and wouldnt have to switch between versions of max.

but by the way, Your work is amazing. Go on inovating. its grate to be with you. Some oather renderers have little more features. But in the best feature, Speed, your on top.

VRay 1.5 will have DR for 3dsmax 6. I'm not sure if we will update the current build for DR, probably not.

As a side note, here is some info on the new GI method:

Hi vlado - these improvements are very, very nice - We allmost gave up on vray-
after seeing that there is no hope for it being used with xsi ....after waiting a year
if 1.5 standalone gets out -the lightmap-the passes - the things needed for our postproduction work
definitely a buy for our studio !!!!

                                Hi Vlado

looks as if you did make the next stepp in speed.

                                I´ve got still some Questions.

Does the new Gi method "lightmapping" produce an viewindependent lightsolution like photonmapping does ?

Does it support ies lights ?

I didnt realy understand the process as you described it. What are the differences to usual i-map calculation. I thougt it woud work the way as you described it in lightmapping ?

are there any restrictions of this method thinking for example of sss, translucence, ... ?

                                What is about speeeeeeed ?

we can´t await this new release. looks greate.
