    VRaySun and VRaySky - vertical offset setting for the skydome, control of the ground blending;

    That s a small feature but man...
    I love pg skies but there is always the problem that we see the black horizon due to the cut in the HDR.
    So glad to have that option . Thanks !

        I don't see how the two are related?

          Maybe I missunderstood but if a vertical offset of the texture is now possible I can get more sky and less black.
          I don't have to try to hide it someway.

            Yeah... thought you could already change the rotation and offsets of a spherically mapped HDMI.

              Yes but if you have an animation in the middle of the ocean with no island. That won't work.

                The changes are related to the VraySun and VraySky skydome, so nothing to do with the VrayHDRI map. Offset, tiling, is already possible. If you want less black I suggest adjusting the tiling (never tried it, but should work).

                Edit: just tried, it doesn't work But you might just stretch or paint some extra sky in photoshop if necessary.
                Edit2: what might work without photoshop is use Crop/Place and set Crop in the V direction to something small like -0.02. But that results in black hole at the top, so not really ideal.

                  This problem still appears in Vray 3.40.02? I've got a normal map that I've got too boost to get a better definition but I'm getting faceted polygons instead

                    make sure you are not gamma correcting the normal map. It should be set to 1.0

                      Yes, texture gamma is 1.0, not 2.2. That's actually the first thing I checked.

                            I have a very recent nightly build for vray 3.45.01

                            It appears to render properly with default vray settings.

                              It does look better. How safe is to use a nightly build? Any problems using it in production?
