    Fresnel control Bugs:

    - if I use a map for the white fresnel color and set "inverted" at the bmp map control, than only intensity 1 will be saved. Other values will be reset after reopen the option dialog.

    - if I set the intensity of the bmb map at the fresnel color and set it 0.5 than the intensity is 2 in the rendering, if I set the intensity 2 than the rendering show an intensity of 0.5 - values are used inverted.

      • Duplicate many materials

        I was trying to use one material to make a paint "palette" of about 25 new materials. So I started duplicating the first material. I got to about 23 and I think I stopped and did something else (on my computer). When I came back and tried to resume material work it crashed, quickly. I got an RCM dump. I was trying to create 25 materials based on the original, then go in and edit each diffuse, but the crash happened.

          I wasn't able to immediately reproduce this...If you repeat this process on your machine do you get a crash each time?

            Same for bump map texture. Interesting: if I set bump a bump intensity from 1 to 0.2 than I get the 0.2 effect, but after reopen the options, the value is set to 1.

                If I remember me right, this is an old bug: spot light cone and rendering dosn't match. The rendered cone is only approx. half size of the Rhino cone.

                  Per email reported some weeks befor, but I will try to keep the bug thread complete here.

                  The shadow of a textured emitter show strange effects, if light come from an other lightsource. Here a simple example.

                    There is a difference in the way Rhino handles Spot lights and how V-Ray does. I can look back in the code to remember what the exact difference was - I can't recall of the top of my head. I believe it has to do with how the hardness is used in Rhino and how we use it for V-Ray.

                        I'm working on a jewery ring scene and sometimes I get black rendered buckets. I use LC+IM and if the final pass will be calculated, than some buckets in the near of the gemstones are black.
                        Scene sended per email.

                            Just found that it appears this bug is related to the inverted checkbox: if it is not checked, settings do stick.

                              I'm working on this SSS object, but it crash every time at the same moment. Here a screenshot a half second befor shut down Rhino.
