I have to ask: will the new VfSU be 64 bit?

Don't know about Windows, but since V-ray runs inside Sketchup and sketchup is 32-bit, I suspect V-Ray will also be 32-bit?

Surely there's a way around that, as Podium V2 demonstrates. I can tell you, if the new VfSU isn't 64-bit, I'll be quite dissapointed.

Hopefully we will find out soon. Vray 4 Rhino has been out for over a year now.

Sorry there haven't been any posted notices of current development, we have been busy beta testing the latest version. Public beta testing will become available once our testers tell us that we have improved our stability enough for public consumption.

currently, we are still 32bit, but are handling larger scenes far easier than in 1.49.01. Haven't run out of memory yet with any test scenes as far as I know. If anyone has any scenes that they would like us to test or benchmark with the public beta, please let us know. We could use some complex/horrible 1.49.01 scenes to test/compare/benchmark. The only large scene issue I've seen so far, is when there are lots of materials (over 500), we take a long time to load the scene. Aside from that, even the biggest, craziest scenes that we had in the previous version, are handled gracefully now. (aside from any beta bugs that have yet to be ironed out, I'm just speaking in terms of issues related to being 32/64bit.)
                Best regards,

Hm. My scenes aren't large per se -but I do render big. Let's see how the beta handles rendering a 12000 pixel wide image.

if you want me to try a scene, I'd be glad to let a render cook for a bit on one of our machines here at the office as a test: https://soshareit.com/signup_send

That's nice of you, Devin, but you needn't bother -I am quite happy to wait until the beta's out. Chop-chop!

Nice attitude. I assume you paid for your license to cover the costs of development?

We are very excited about it too! Matt, I don't know if you checked the beta page, but there is documentation, tutorials, videos... the whole 9 yards. This time around, we are pulling all the stops.
