what sucks is that you have to use bucket mode GI right now, in order to use DR/render stripes.
otherwise every server calculates the whole irridiance map, not only the assigned stripe. you can also calculate the irridiance map on one box, save it, etc. etc. but that sucks, obviously, since the prepass takes longer than the actual rendering most of the time.
word on the street is that bucket mode GI calculation actually works in 1.5, without artefacts. DR/render stripes would greatly benefit from that.[/u]
